Sunday we took Wyatt for his visit to the Knippers'. Christine, Patrick, Dominique and Leah all came to Texas for a summer vacation. Wyatt is not yet old enough to appreciate the truly magnificent food prepared by Polly or the ascerbic wit of Henri, but did he did enjoy people watching. Dominique and Leah entertained him and their cousin Stephan let him watch the Olympics. Watching t.v. was probably the highlight of the visit for him. We don't let Wyatt see t.v. and I think it is for good cause. He is mesmerized by television. Ross spent the afternoon engaged in a heated debate with Henri about presidential politics. I gorged on two kinds of salad, two kinds of potato salad, barbequed chicken, bread, beets (!), and cake. I also took some photos and listened to Patrick's friends argue about whether Lee could run a quarter-mile in 60 seconds. I never did see the race, though.
