July Flies By

It is nearly mid-July, which is unbelievable to me. The summer is flying by. We have been busy, though not up to any special. Ross has been making steady progress on the house projects. The painters started scraping last week, but no paint has been applied because we've had two wet weeks. Ross did get his new fence painted this weekend. The first weekend in July we celebrated Pops's birthday, cousin Nathaniel's birthday, and then went to visit Mimi for the Fourth of July, as usual. This year Jess and Rylie joined on us on our trip to El Campo, which was lots of fun. This weekend we had no plans. We needed a down weekend because we have been traveling and having many scheduled activities. So on Saturday Wyatt and I went to the trail with Teresa and Joe as we often do. Then Bobo took Wyatt to the splash pad before his nap. After his nap we went to Deep Eddy, which is a spring fed pool. And Matt's El Rancho for dinner. Neither Ross nor I had ever been to Matt's El Rancho despite its iconic status. Not bad. Today we spent the morning playing and doing chores. In the evening we went to Little Stacy Pool, another spring fed pool and local spot that we had never experienced. After that dinner at Home Slice Pizza. A pretty good weekend. And I am thisclose to actually finishing all of the laundry tonight! Wyatt has been really enjoying going outside all the time since summer has arrived. The mosquitoes in our yard don't bother him nearly as much as they do us. It will be nice when we get our back yard done so we can go out there. We don't really need a yard since we live two blocks from a huge park, I guess. We hit the splash pad most evenings after dinner. We still don't have tv (we don't even have one to watch movies on, which is a bit of a bummer) so we just spend every evening outside hanging out in the front yard once we get back from the park. We hardly miss tv anymore and Wyatt's never had it, so he doesn't know that he's missing the Toy Story movies or anything else (some day kid!). When he finally decides to come inside he likes to make a blanket fort or cuddle nest in the living room.
Playing with Satya. They are so cute when they play games together. They imagine going shopping at HEB (the grocery store).
Wyatt's picture of Momar.
Wyatt's strange and kind of cool picture of Pops and Daddyman.
The Hendersons in El Campo with their Mimi.
Wyatt in Mimi's pool.
Cousin Ry is awesome at playing games with his little cousins. Wyatt really enjoys Rylie.
Laundry Day. Ride in the basket.
