Self Feeding
I finally realized that it was time for Wyatt to feed himself. He has been eating cereal and bread on his own, but we spoon feed him ground meals. Which is mostly fine. He has only four teeth still. But, he's growing up and big boys feed themselves. I was a little worried about how much he would eat before he got bored. This worry was misplaced. I started him with half a piece of wheat bread, a large strawberry, blueberries, and some cubed cheese. While he was eating that I cooked some carrots and a hard boiled egg. This boy went to town. He has always been a good eater, but he really cleaned his plate tonight, bit by bit. He first ate all of the blueberries, then the bread, next he moved on to the strawberry and cheese. Then he ate the egg yolk and carrots. It was clear that he wasn't done, so I gave him more bread and blueberries. The blueberries were his favorite. This whole process took some time -- it was a 45-minute meal after seconds. Surprisingly, the mess wasn't too bad (and Josie helped with clean-up). Quite a success.
