Wyatt had a wonderful and exhausting first cross country vacation. He was great for the first three days. I gave him an A- on the first plane ride. This was a long ride at about six hours and he cried only once for about two minutes. The first few days in Boston he had a great time playing with Leah and Dominique and sightseeing with Auntie Christine. We then took a way-too-long car trip to Belgrade, Maine. We stopped in Portland to eat and see the Portland Head Light. Very cool. Six hours in the car, not so cool. In Maine we hung out at our cabin and then went cousin Sarah's wedding. It was the most unique and beautiful wedding. She was married in the woods on the bank of a river on land where she was raised. This land has been in the Bunker family for at least seven generations. It kept threatening to rain, but it held off and the light was amazing. Hard to describe how picturesque it was. After Maine, we headed down to Nashua, NH stopping in Portsmouth. Portsmouth was a very quaint town which we enjoyed on our quick visit. In Nashua we stayed with Uncle Paul and Auntie Rolanne. Wyatt did not have such a great time. He was way too tired by then. But we ate Rolanne's seafood chowder that was beyond delicious--she made it from scratch and it had fresh fish, lobster, and clams. It was the best ever. EVER. Mmmmmmmm.... We also had a couple lobsters that we picked up in Portland.
Wyatt's trip back to Texas was not-so-good. Okay, to be honest, really bad. By Saturday he was sick with fever and congestion. And despite our efforts we could not seem to get him to take a good nap each day. So every morning he woke at 6:50 (exactly) which is strange, because that the time he wakes at home and we are in a different time zone. We tried to get him to bed on time, but that was rarely done. He napped a little each day but not enough. Things went really downhill after Saturday. He was just too tired to function happily. The plane ride home (without Ross, who had to return early for work) was really tough on Wyatt, my parents, and me. It took us almost 10 hours with layovers to get home and he was miserable a good part of that. When we got home, he was cheerful as could be. However, he didn't want to finish his book before he started telling us to put him in his bed. Hoping he sleeps well tonight and starts to recover soon.
We had a great trip; it was so good to see our family. Loved Sarah's wedding.

The pictures are amazing. There is nothing quite like New England in Autumn. That wedding looks spectacular. Sorry to hear that it was hard coming home, but better to be bad on the way back than on the way out there, I think. And what good practice for the short flight to Tucson in less than a month!
Looks like you had fun, even though Wyatt had hard trip home to Texas.
Can't wait to see you guys in a few weeks!
P.S. My sister has the same cow-print cover on her son's carseat!
Thanks for the pictures! It's fun to imagine a season that isn't summer. I love that part of the country... growing up, my family vacationed in Belgrade Lakes every year. Hope Wyatt's feeling better!
