Business and Pleasure
I really enjoy my job. I like the work, I like the people. I'm glad that I am fulfilled by work that I must do to help to support our family. One of the things I don't really like about work is travelling. I don't like to travel now that I have Wyatt because I miss out on our very important time together if I am gone in the mornings or evenings. For a variety of reasons, I don't really do much overnight travel now. And that's a good thing for me. So when I learned that I had to go to Falfurrias, which is a four hour trip each way, I wasn't too excited about it. But then Ross suggested that we all go and stay with Granny in Kingsville. So the trip got MUCH better.
There are a number of good things about going to Kingsville. Number one is Granny, of course. Number Two is probably the King's Inn. It serves up the best avocado salad and fresh seafood (all fried!). Proximity to the beach is up there, too. We didn't have time to hit the real beach, but we saw salt water.
Heading in for our feast. Wyatt warmed to Granny very quickly. About an hour after our arrival, they were good friends. Wyatt loves his grandparents. Must be instinctive, because he doesn't see Granny or Mimi too often, but he likes them a lot. This morning when I was getting ready for my hearing before Ross and Granny were up, Wyatt kept telling me, "I anna see Gan-NEE." Over and over. I am sure he was pleased when she woke. I am pretty sure that he then started chanting to go outside. He loved her yard, her dog, the hole with a shovel in it, the tractors, and mowers. He never wanted to go inside.
Looking at tiny shells with Daddy.
Doesn't he look like such a big boy? Crazy.
This was one of the coolest parts of the trip. The Blue Angels (which I loved to see at air shows as a child) were flying over Granny's yard for hours. So cool. Wyatt really liked this, but not as much as his Daddy and I did, I think!
Um, this is probably Wyatt's second favorite thing about Kingsville (far ahead of King's Inn). We had to drag him off of the riding mower.

How fun! I am sure Granny enjoyed every minute of your visit! Wyatt is so adorable. Can't wait to spend some time with him.
