New Chapter

After four years on Shoal Creek Blvd. we randomly found a very cool, very old house close to dowtown. Through Ross's sheer determination and crazy hard work we got our house sold, the new house bought, and packed all of our stuff to move downtown. We have undertaken what will surely be a lifelong project assuming we last that long. This house was built in 1912. It has many, many projects waiting. The last few weeks have been more than a little busy. And stressful. Once we finally got everything (including our 15-year-old runaway cat) to the new location, there were still some major transition pains to endure. Ross and I have moved as a couple seven times (I think). He's moved about 20 times total. This time was by far the most difficult. Wyatt had a much harder time with the move than I anticipated. I think he was already in the midst of a significant cognitive development spurt, and this just put him over the edge. Poor guy. His sleep was a disaster. He went from a solid 14 hours a day down to about 12 hours of poor sleep and was a grouchy mess during the day. When we went to find our cat, Wyatt kept telling me "those cars at our house." I had to explain again that wasn't our house anymore. Major bummer for a two-year-old. His sleep patterns are moving back toward normal and he is doing better, but he's still a little off kilter. I also had to go out of town for work over night this week, so that didn't help things. We are trying to get back to normal life, but if you don't hear from us for awhile this why.
Wyatt's new room is awesome, so it's a real shame that he is scared to sleep in it! Getting better, though.
Nothing but net. Wyatt and Daddy assemble the basketball set that Wyatt got for Christmas.
Our old house.
More old house. The painters are coming soon, so these are the before shots. Can't wait for the after. It is kind of a spook house at the moment. But it does have a view of the Capitol from the front porch. Really pretty at night.

I am sorry to hear Wyatt is having a hard time adjusting, but your house looks beautiful in the pictures. I am sure all will fall into place soon. If we make it down to Austin this summer, we'll definitely want to visit you guys so the boys can play & we can check out your new place. XOXO

Wyatt,
I wish you and your parents a good night's sleep tonight. But if you are awake at 2am, call me. I'll be up too.
