Keeping Busy in A-TX
Wyatt has been having a good August so far. First, Christine, Patrick, Dominique, and most importantly Leah came to visit us. Wyatt LOVES Leah and she loves him too. He finds her so wonderfully entertaining. They played blanket fort and other games (at her direction). She loves to tell him what to play and he is pretty compliant. They had a great time and we got to catch up with the other Knipper-Davises while those two played. We also went out to Georgetown to celebrate Patrick's 45th birthday. We enjoyed the day with the whole Knipper-Davis clan and it was, as usual, quite a hoot. Last weekend we had a little party for our friends to celebrate Ross's 35th birthday. The house is finally in some semblance of order. I'll post pictures of the new paint soon.
In other news Wyatt is moving up to the Dragonfly room week after next, so that will be a new experience for him. He is finally using the toilet a little, so we are pretty darn excited about that. (And no, before I had a child I never thought I could get excited about toileting, but here we are!) Wyatt has been saying sweet and funny things to us. My favorite is when told me, "Mommy, you're so cute, you're super cute," while patting my face as he was trying to get me up in the morning. Or when Ross sings or tells him a joke, he goes on and on, "you're so funny Daddy, that's sooo funny!" He also informed me that he didn't like Josie, because she's "obnoxious." Obviously, we need to watch our language around him. He's a funny, sweet boy, but he definitely has his opinions and some attitude that we try to keep in check.
Here's Wyatt donning his monkey back-pack. Ross and I have been saving that for 13 years--I'm not kidding. Wyatt is finally old enough to use it.
