One Packed Weekend
Wyatt had a very full weekend. We planned to start off by going to San Antonio to visit our law school friend Sharon and her new husband. Instead we had to make an early Saturday stop at the doctor's office. Wyatt's right eye was really crusty when he got up and it had been a little crusty the day before, so I figured we better get some eye drops before it got out of hand. The doctor determined that he also had an infection in one ear and his throat (very red throat, she said). We had no idea. This is how it is with Wyatt, though, unless he is in very severe pain we rarely know about it. Doctor could not decide if it was viral or bacterial, so we got some antibiotics and hit the road. Wyatt weighed in at a feather weight 24 pounds. Mind you he weighed over 17 at four months old, so he has really slimmed down. We finally met up with Sharon and Mike and had lunch in SA. We then toured the Riverwalk in the sweltering Texas heat. This was Wyatt's first trip to San Antonio. On Sunday I got to sleep in. I only made it to 8:20. I used to consider that getting up early on Saturday, now it is sleeping in. All a matter of perspective, I guess. Anyway, my guys weren't back from their morning excursion yet. Once they got here we had some family time and then Ross and I read the paper while Wyatt played. Over the past year I seriously doubted that I would ever read the paper while Wyatt was awake, but now he can entertain himself for at least a half hour with minimal supervision indoors; outside he can last MUCH longer. It is pretty cool. They gave me a really sweet mother's day gift and then we got ready to go to brunch with the Hendersons. We had the best brunch ever. Homemade waffles, muffins, cinnamon rolls, migas, fruit, and a chambord creme brulee that Rylie made. No pictures of the food, but the family shots are below. Cousin Rylie gave Wyatt his John Deer tractor. It is so awesome. Wyatt and Satya both enjoyed climbing on it, though neither is old enough to ride it, yet. Finally, we went to linner with my family and then came home. We got Wyatt a baby pool at the store, but he wasn't too keen on it. Maybe next week. Then to top off an excellent mother's day, I got lots of help with the laundry!
After enduring two wrecks on I-35 and a couple laps around downtown, we finally got to see Sharon and Mike. Here they are. Sharon seemed very happy and Mike was really nice.
