Ross took a week off of paid work to work on the house. He also wanted to spend some extra time with Wyatt before Wallis arrives. So we decided to go to Horseshoe Bay to visit Mimi. (I am not allowed to roam very far from my delivery hospital, so we try to stay within an hour of home.) As a bonus, we got to visit Paula and Tommy at their very nice place on the lake. Wyatt and Ross went on a boat ride with Uncle Tommy. I've been on the boat with Tommy before and decided if I wasn't prepared to have e a baby that day, I better not go out! One of Ross's Aussie cousins actually delivered at 36 weeks the morning after a boat ride with Tommy. We don't *think* it was the cause, but you can never be sure ;)
Wyatt was very tired and a little apprehensive so I don't think he fully enjoyed the ride at the time, even though Tommy let Wyatt drive. But he must have really liked it upon reflection because he kept asking to go back the next several days after. Tommy also tried to get Wyatt to fish, but Wyatt wasn't into it. Tommy caught a perch and let Wyatt try to reel it in. He also made Wyatt touch the fish and smell his hand, which was pretty funny. Wyatt told everyone at school about how he cast the line and caught the fish. Apparently, telling fish tales starts early, because he did not cast the line and barely touched the reel at all!
