We had so much fun at the Elgin pumpkin patch last year that we decided to do it again this year. With friends. It is reported that the birth rate has sharply declined since 2008 when the recession took hold. But this is not so among our group of friends. The OPPs? Old Professional Parents. Most everyone we know who is married has kids who are 3 and under. The Elgin pumpkin festival is the perfect place to kill a Saturday morning and keep the kids entertained (and wear them out for nap time). Wyatt had a good time. Predictably his favorite part was the tractor ride. My favorite part was a border collie herding sheep. My least favorite part was that it was about 90. Again. It would really be more fun in cooler weather. Oh well. This is Texas.

Too many lawyers. Too many kids. A group of all old lawyer parents and our much too precious broods. From left: Alexis, Michael and Tess (Alexis works with Ross), Teresa, Travis, Joe and Isaac (Teresa and I used to work together now we are just best mom friends and Joe and Wyatt are buds, too), Ross, me and Wyatt (Wallis didn't make the pic because our photographer, Bobo, was wearing her), and Janet, Brian, Louis and Norah (our friends from law school who moved here from California)

Not a great picture but it was hot and the subjects weren't very compliant. You get the idea, though.

Cute but reluctant subject. He's not fond of photo ops these days.
|
Their favorite part. We took a hayride pulled by a tractor to sit on the orange tractor. Joe and Wyatt love tractors!

Love the pictures! Joe and Wyatt seem equally averse to photos these days. Joe refused any additional photos, and I didn't push it given the 90-degree weather. Agree that a pumpkin patch would be much more pleasant if it were about 20 degrees cooler. We were exhausted after!
